What IS the New Horizons Band?

The New Horizons Band (NHB) is for people who can say, "I always wanted to learn to play an instrument!" or those who used to play an instrument in school, many years ago, and would love to pick it up and learn to play it again. It is a group for adult beginners. We are affiliated with the New Horizons International Music Association, a group founded by Dr. Roy Ernst, professor emeritus of music at the Eastman School of music. The NHIMA currently has over 150 New Horizons Bands worldwide, and continues to grow, bringing the joy of making music to ever more people.

NOW, we are providing this service to anyone who can make it to our rehearsals, here in Mississippi!

So if you've ever thought you wanted to learn to play an instrument, or to pick up your old instrument and play it again, then click on the JOIN button above, and come join us!

New Horizons Band News:

ALL ARE WELCOME

If you'd like to find out more, come to our rehearsal. It's at the Ridgeland High School Band room.

To find the rehearsal, exit I-55 at the Ridgeland exit; go east one short block, then turn north on Sunnybrook Road. Go about a mile to Ridgeland High School, right across Sunnybrook from Patty Peck Honda, and come to the band room, which is behind the auditorium building. (The auditorium is the first building you'll encounter as you enter the campus.)

GET YOUR NAMETAGS: On a piece of paper, print your name as you want it to appear on your nametag, and your instrument. Give this paper along with $10 to cover the cost of the nametag, to the director or the treasurer. We will get your nametag for you.
